Female Goldfinch Ringed


			
			 	
 	
	

Netted in Waterford City this morning for ringing purposes, this female Goldfinch was already ringed with a closed ring used by illegal trappers. These rings are used on young wild birds when in the nest so that when ‘harvested’ for cages, they can claim that it was bred in captivity.
